Freeport Talke is celebrating as it gets ready to fill the final vacant unit at the centre with an exciting new retailer
Investment in marketing, new ownership, the arrival of new retailers and an improved economy are cited as key reasons in the business media why trade at the popular centre is booming.
With more than 130,000 sq. ft., 650 car parking spaces and more than 2 million visitors each year it is the principal retail destination for the region.
New stores which opened during 2016 were Bonmarche, The Body Shop Outlet and Outdoor & Country.

So far in 2017 Thomas Cook and IT Luggage have both rebranded, undertaking extensive store refurbishments. BB’s Bakers & Baristas opened at the start of the year and will bring another dimension to the foodie offer at the Centre. It’s a fantastic place to shop and we’re proud to have been appointed.
Sue Sweatmore, centre manager at Freeport Talke, said:
“We’ve worked really hard in terms of getting the right mix of retailers, events and campaigns and we’re delighted with the results. We’re confident that we’re on track to at least match record numbers of visitors before the end of the year.
“Our new owners are stimulating more interest in the Centre. We’re already working together to see how we can make further exciting enhancements to the visitor experience during 2017.”
Growing footfall with positive PR
